With a lot of time on my hands during lockdown, I volunteered to create different campaign and fundraising videos for different charities. I worked with Now-u and Giving World to create inspiring videos that would help them gain a broader audience. Creating the videos has been challenging as I had limited resources at my disposal, I relied largely on stock footage. As a video editor, this approach became interesting to me because I had to find footage and manipulate it in a way that it became meaningful in the context of the video. With the Domestic Abuse video, for example, I tried to portray the idea of ‘violence’ in a suggestive way by overlapping women’s portraits with a shot of red ink.
For all of the videos I sourced the footage, I edited and I created the motion graphics.
